The Role of the PMO

  • Establish and maintain respected relationships with key stakeholders in the project
  • Implement performance and tracking tools to monitor initiatives, milestones and communication plans
  • Ensure the right balance between delivering process and technology solutions and minimizing risk
  • Assist in developing, documenting and communicating processes, methods and tools
  • Ensure projects are completed within scope, on schedule and within budget
  • Work closely with principal stakeholders and customers to understand business needs
  • Monitor project performance against financial parameters, schedule, resources, scope changes, financial business/cost controls and project deliverable quality
  • Partner with client to create integrated initiative and value proposition development
  • Share knowledge across organizational boundaries
  • Address complex business issues and facilitate issue resolution
  • Provide quality control for all interim and final project deliverables
  • Ensure effective communication, planning and execution across the project team
  • Implement standard project management framework including project plans, work breakdown structures, resource plans, detailed budgets, risk mitigation plans, communication plans, performance tracking and status reports
