Business Development Executive
Position Location: Dallas, TX
The Job at a Glance:
The Business Development Executive is responsible for developing new Oracle/PeopleSoft
(including Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Fusion) professional services business in the
DFW Metroplex. The ideal candidate will have superior knowledge of the major
companies in this geography, as well as relationships with some of the key executives
in these companies. He/she will be expected to manage all phases and tactical
objectives of business development cycles to successful close (including proposal
development, implementation estimation, scope construction, and client presentations)
under the direction of the CEO. He/she will be expected to lead and/or participate
in all activities involved in the sales cycle. This is an experienced individual
sales role, comparable to a seasoned project delivery manager for an established
ERP services partner. Based on the success of this individual and the associated
delivery of services by the organization, there will be opportunities for advancement
into positions of increasing responsibility within the company.
Overview of Position Functions:
The successful candidate will:
- Actively hunt and pursue new business opportunities
in the defined territory.
- Quickly grasp client business and technical requirements
and fit potential consulting solutions around those specific needs.
- Network within the industry, and market, to bring
new client and Oracle contacts to the company.
- Identify/develop key partnering opportunities.
- Communicate effectively at all client levels, especially
at the C-level.
- Form strong working relationships with Oracle license
sales directors and account managers in Oracle’s Named Account and Geographically
structured Texas practice.
- Plan and execute sales cycles with Oracle license
sales representatives.
- Effectively negotiate and close complex services
contracts.
- Add specific industry and technology solution knowledge
and experience to the sales process.
- Understand and demonstrate experience of managing
quota attainment.
- Maintain and nurture client relationships and loyalty
to ensure additional business.
Skills/Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the position of Business Development Executive must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent; MBA is a plus.
- Drive and motivation to sell services full-time.
This is a direct sales role.
- Minimum of 5 years experience selling consulting
services supporting ERP initiatives including but not limited to: vendor selection,
implementations, upgrades, optimizations and outsourcing. Ideal background
includes experience selling Oracle and/or PeopleSoft, consulting services for an
ERP services consulting organization.
- Proven track record of successful solutions-oriented
consulting services sales; minimum $2+ million in professional services sales per
year over the last 3 years.
- Expertise in at least one of the following industries:
professional services, healthcare, aerospace & defense, financial services,
media & publishing, or public utilities.
- Development and maintenance of a sales strategy,
plan, and all associated customer target and pipeline reports.
- Willingness and ability to participate in all aspects
of the sales cycle from lead generation through delivery of statements of work.
- All other non-operational sales tasks as designated
by CEO.
